Portland Kayak Club Seeks You
I know many of us come to a kayak shop for the first time, look at the boats, and wonder “Who am I going to paddle with?”. You want to go on all these adventures, maybe you like your own space, but want to meet a bunch of great people to paddle with. The Pacific NW Sea Kayak Club formed last year in an effort to share a common experience with others. We meet folks all the time at Alder Creek kayak and Canoe looking for destinations and all the little secret spots. Meet up with these folks and find those secret places. Below is an exert from our News Letter.
Pacific NW Sea Kayak
Meet Up
Although not a formal club, this motivated group of paddlers meet once a month to connect with other paddlers in the community. All those who enjoy kayaking in the ocean or in flat waters are welcome to attend. Meet other sea kayakers, discuss gear and plan trips. They are based in the Portland/ Vancouver Metro Area, so most trips will be nearby. However, trips farther afield are encouraged.
The next meet up is the monthly get together where we share some food, a beer, and just get to know one other. The meet up is at the Lucky Labrador on Hawthorne at 7:00 pm on January 7th. Bring your favorite guide books, magazines, maps, stories, hopes, dreams and calendars so you can plan some spectacular trips with the group. There is a $3 suggested donation to attend the meeting.
