River Running: Style not just Survival

River Running: Style not just survival

Location:  United States
Starting From: US $125.00

River Running: Style not just Survival will be run on a Class III river from 9am-3pm (Student should already be paddling some class III sections)

S-Turns, Eddy hopping, lateral momentum using river features, surfing, and much more will be covered.

This class is a really good 1 day brush up for people that have been paddling with the club or friends for a year or two. Perhaps you have been running harder and harder rivers, but swimming more than you want and are still feeling sloppy and tired at the end of the day?

We will be paddling a local class III river and working ALL the hard moves.  Challenges will be taken on by choice and will be relatively low risk but quite demanding.  We will be working the river hard all day so get ready for some serious fun!

Students should already be paddling some class III runs and have a reliable river roll.

Things To Bring

You will need full whitewater kit including drysuit or heavy wetsuit.  This class involves scouting and portaging at times so be sure you wear sturdy footwear.  Also bring any safety and rescue gear you would normally bring with you paddling.  If you have questions about what you should bring please call us at 503-285-0464.  Thanks

Inclusions

We can provide all gear needed upon request.

Exclusions

Gratuity:  It's NEVER expected but always appreciated.  If you feel your coaches / guides have done an exceptional job and made your experience a memorable one, then you can certainly show your appreciation by giving a tip. The amount is totally up to you. Many people believe that anyone in a service type of job (like restaurant and hotel employees, hair dressers and dog groomers, etc.) should get between 10-20% of the total cost of the service. That is not to say that’s what we suggest, but that’s what most people tip when they do tip. So, for instance, if your trip was $200.00, and your guide made your experience a memorable one, a $20-$40 tip would be generous and greatly appreciated!

If your coach / guide was so exceptional that you want him or her to be your guide on all future trips, simply request them at the time you make your reservation.  While we cannot promise he/she will be available, we will do everything in our power to accommodate your request.

Transport to the river and food is up to you.
