Previous experience required,
Full Immersion 1 or equivalent is a
prerequisite.
This
class is offered from our Bend
location.
If you are serious about river
paddling, no matter what your skill
level, it's always time for a
comprehensive safety course. This
one evening, 2-day course focuses on
quick reactions to potential and
real emergencies on the river.
Topics include swimming rapids,
throw bag work, mechanical
advantages, accident scenarios,
"live bait" rescues, rope
techniques, a simulated strainer
swim and much more.
The
Whitewater Safety Workshop is
scheduled a couple times a year.

The Water, You Will Need:
- Tennis
shoes or river sandals with wool
socks or wetsuit booties
- Wet
Suit and Drytop or Drysuit

Sunglasses with retention device
(i.e. Croakies, Chums, etc)

Sunscreen (SPF 30), lip balm (SPF
15)-
Sun hat, rain hat, and/or fleece hat
-
Synthetic top and bottom (thermal
underwear, heavier wt. for cooler
weather)

Rain coat and rain pants
-
Nylon shorts and/or swimsuit for the
pool
-
Water bottle (1 quart)
-
Towel and change of clothes for ride
home

The Whitewater Safety
Workshop is organized and run
from our Bend
store. You will receive detailed
instructions and a map with your
confirmation packet.

accessories. We would be happy to
assist you in getting outfitted for
your trip. Please remember to keep
your personal gear to a minimum, but
keep your comfort in mind. Remember
the goal is to travel light and
efficiently.
