Come enjoy paddling one of Central
Oregon’s most beautiful flatwater
stretches. The Upper Deschutes River
offers miles of meandering water to
practice efficient stroke technique
and basic boat handling skills. The
area is also rich with an abundance
of wildlife. River Otter, Bald
Eagles, Osprey and other playful
waterfowl make the Upper Deschutes
River their home. The character of
the river is mellow and these trips
are open to kayaks or canoes.
On the 1/2
day tour we paddle the section of
river above
Dillon Falls. As the river meanders
along we pass a 6000 year old lava
flow and tour a lagoon with an
underwater Lava cave. The tour
includes a short hike to view Dillon
Falls.
The Full
Day Tour starts where the Deschutes
flows from Wickiup Reservoir, this
is the first nine mile section of
unobstructed quiet water on the
Deschutes.
Upper Deschutes River Tours are
offered regularly on weekends April
through October. Call for details
