The Werner “Ninja” Danny Mongno is coming to PDX to show us how it’s done!
The sure fire way to guarantee more fun while paddling is to use less energy. The best two ways to get started on this quest is to assure you are using the proper fitting paddle and to perform strokes more efficiently. Join Werner Paddle’s kayak instructor Danny Mongno as he helps you on the path to more efficiency. Starting with the paddle, he will discuss low angle and high angle paddling, paddle fit options, lengths and help prescribe the perfect fitting paddle for each individual. From there we will dissect the forward stroke and see how, along with matching a better fitting paddle, we can perform this key stroke using less energy and generate more power.

Where can I go? How should I go? What can I expect to see along the way? What if I have never been there before? These are questions we ask of ourselves before we launch. Many of the answers can be found on a nautical chart. Chart symbols, level of accuracy, dangers, helpful navigation information, distances. This introductory clinic will start you on the path of divining the wealth of wisdom that lies in nautical charts.
