In May I was able to get on a 3 day 2 night self support trip down the Wild and Scenic Rogue River with the Remix XP 10. At first I was a little hesitant to take a boat other than my Liquidlogic Jefe but decided I wanted more room.

I couldn’t have been happier with my decision to go with the Remix XP 10. It can be loaded down with so much gear I felt like I was camping with a raft setup. I could have even packed another 2-3 days more of gear with the extra space left over inside the hatch. When it comes to handling and performance the boat works great for most situations.

Personally I have not taken it on something harder than class 3+ but know it could work just as well for Class 4 rapids (depending on your skill level!). The skeg idea seemed funny to me before I was able to use the boat, but once I got it on the water I realized how nice it was to have. Overall, my experience with the boat has been enough to push me to get one here in the future.

My girlfriend, Christina Russell, ended up paddling the XP 9. She is a small person (100 Pounds) and she was worried if the boat would work for her. We packed both boats full of gear which added to the overall weight significantly. After a few rapids she realized it still worked great even though it was such a large boat. It handled perfectly and she was able to paddle it easily through every rapid, even with the extra large size/weight. If you are looking for an all around boat that can be used for anything (even self support multi-days), the Liquidlogic Remix XP 9 and 10 are the perfect boat.

For people looking into this kayak and want a basic description I would say; “the Liquidlogic Remix XP 9 and 10 are whitewater kayaks with a hint of recreation to them.” (They are great for both whitewater and recreation paddling!)

The Uni-Shock Bulkhead by Jackson kayak is one of the best systems on the market today.

Jackson White water kayaks are designed to create a safer white water river runner and creek kayak. Take a look at this short film by Eric Jackson as he talks about this injury preventing bulkhead system. This system makes running white water in a kayak safer and more fun. This bulkhead system can be found in the Hero Series and Rocker Series by Jackson Kayak.

What our customers and friends like the most about this whitewater bulk head system is the ease of use. Since the bulkhead is based on a simple adjustment, rope and jam cleat, this makes for a comfortable system that is very very easy to use. The Uni-Shock Bulkhead by Jackson kayak is one of the best systems on the market today. Come into Alder Creek Kayak and Canoe to Demo a Jackson White Water Boat today!

The new Diesel White Water Kayaks are here! The Wave Sport Diesel 60 is fit for the smaller paddler while the Wavesport Diesel 70 and Diesel 80 are more similar to the old 65 and 75.

As of last week Alder Creek Kayak and Canoe has three new Wavesport Kayaks. The new Diesel White Water Kayaks are here! The Wave Sport Diesel 60 is fit for the smaller paddler while the Wavesport Diesel 70 and Diesel 80 are more similar to the old 65 and 75. There are some great new features to this white water boat that make it faster, more predictable, and still has that same ol’ trusty feel as before.

As soon as the boats came to Alder Creek we noticed the differences right away. First of all the deck looks very different. Not asflat as before, helps to resurface, and keeps this boat feeling more comfortable if the bow or stern submerge. The change was in the peaked deck. The old Wave Sport Deisel had a flater stern deck that doesn’t resurface like new design.

The Wavesport Diesel is a faster boat because of the modified rocker and flared sidewalls in the bow and stern. This translates to a faster kayak and one that my feel more maneuverable while surfing or running the river.
