David Trageser

Role:  Buyer

Location:  Portland

Though new to the Portland paddling community and Team Alder Creek, David Trageser brings nearly a decade of canoeing and kayaking experience to the table that encompasses both coasts of the United States of America. Originally from Newton, Massachusetts, David began paddling on the calm waters of the Charles River as a child before branching out and exploring bigger waters throughout the Northeast. His first real exposure to the wide world of paddle sports came when he began working for the local paddle shop, Charles River Canoe & Kayak, at age 14. Since then, David Trageser has explored the coasts of Maine and Massachusetts by kayak, as well as some of the area’s most pristine lakes and rivers. David came to Portland five years ago for school, but has since made the breathtakingly beautiful city and surrounding area his home for the future. Foreshadowing his future, David’s first introduction to life in Oregon was a week long kayaking expedition around Lake Waldo, one of the most serene and awe inspiring locales in all of Oregon. Since following the great American trend of westward expansion, David has explored Puget Sound, the San Juan Islands, sections of the Oregon Coast, the Columbia River, and the Rogue River. Having just finished his degree in history at Lewis & Clark College, David is looking forward to spending more time outdoors in the seemingly endless supply of pristine rivers, lakes and bays of Oregon, and less time with his nose buried in books.
