Tidal Currents is designed to:

* introduce students to paddling in current. It will be held in a location
with eddies and a well-defined current stream
* learn how to break in and out of eddies
* learn how to ferry across the current, forwards and backwards, and how to
use ranges and other markers to judge position and speed
* apply and practice the paddling skills you own in a moving water
environment, including rolls, and rescues
* understand the causes of tidal and non-tidal currents and the effects of
topology and bathymetry on current
* understand the inherent dangers of moving water and the combined effects of
wind and current on sea states
